Robert C. Patton
Director of Operations

Robert is an individual who is intensely committed to, and passionate about, helping others achieve a healthy, balanced, productive, and happier life in recovery.  A graduate of Old Dominion University, he is an active participant in the local recovery community and brings his passion for helping others to Clean Adventures.  Robert believes the transitional IOP model is a level of care necessary in order for the recovering addict and/or alcoholic to learn how to live life on life’s terms clean and sober.  He understands that a firm foundation in the 12 steps, coupled with the tools necessary to confront and address irrational thoughts and behaviors, is the cornerstone to achieving sustained recovery and a better life.  Robert himself is a member of the Prescott recovery community and an example of success in recovery.  A Northern Virginia native, he resides locally in the Prescott area with his wife and son.

Wes Kitchens, MEd., LCDC, LISAC
Clinical Director

Wes Kitchens is a master’s level therapist with over 20 years experience in the field of addiction therapy.  Additionally, Wes presents over 30 years of personal recovery using a 12 step model.  Wes has been involved in every aspect of treatment including inpatient, residential, and transitional living.  His therapeutic approach is founded on 12 Step principles with a heavy emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Healing.  He believes that given enough education and direction, an addict and/or alcoholic has the ability to choose a course of recovery resulting in a better life.  Wes is an active member of the Prescott recovery community, and serves as the Prescott AA Intergroup Chairman.  Wes is a Dallas, Texas native, and resides locally in the Prescott area.


Kemper Burt,
New Business | Outreach Coordinator

Kemper A. Burt has been working in the addictions field for over 10 years.  While attending night and weekend classes for his substance abuse certification in California, Mr. Burt started managing sober living homes.  After working in California for several facilities, Mr. Burt Moved to Prescott Arizona where he became involved with Marketing in the addictions field.  Mr. Burt has visited with some of the top facilities in the US. During this time he developed a sense about what he would like to see in a treatment facility.  After meeting with Robert Patton of Clean Adventures, Mr. Burt found that they possessed the same vision and Mr. Burt came to work with Clean Adventures.  Lending his skills in marketing on the internet and helping young men to gain the tools necessary for recovery is life fulfilling work for Mr. Burt.

Kyle McWilliams
Director of Housing

Kyle arrived in Prescott, Arizona through his own struggle with alcohol and substance abuse.  As a former client, Kyle brings an understanding of the importance of a program of recovery to the Clean Adventures team.  Kyle believes strongly that the structure, quality of care, and individualized treatment planning that the transitional intensive outpatient setting provides are the keys to success in early recovery.   He credits his sobriety to his faith, his friends, his 12 Step community, and the support of his family.  Kyle is a mentor to his peers, and believes in the importance of generously giving back what he has been so blessed to have received.  Kyle resides in Prescott where he is an active contributor to the local recovery community.

Nate Gillespie
Housing Manager

As a graduate of Clean Adventures, Nate shares his knowledge of the program, his leadership, and the life skills learned with our current clients. The program of Clean Adventures introduced Nate to the 12 step program that he continues to work daily. Nate is an active and participating member of the local young people's community. Working with young people in the community that struggle with alcoholism and addiction is one of Nate's many passions.  Nate credits his sobriety to the tools learned while a client of Clean Adventures, and believes strongly in the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Karen Tompson, LCDC, CEAT
Primary Therapist

Karen is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Certified Expressive Art Therapist, with over 16 years of experience in the field of addiction therapy.  She has 17 years of personal recovery and brings insight and knowledge of the 12 step program to her clients.  Karen uses a variety of treatment modalities such as Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy and 12 Step Recovery to address addiction issues.  Karen believes that with a strong spiritual foundation and deep introspection any addict can recover.
 

Dale Ryder, LCSW
Family Therapist

As a family therapist and co-facilitator of the Clean Adventures family workshops, Dale believes that family work is critical to healing patterns of the addict/alcoholic.  Dale brings her understanding of the importance of family healing, and her knowledge of what is necessary for family healing to occur, to the Clean Adventures community.  As a workshop co-facilitator, her work addresses values, attitudes, and assumptions that can create negative messages and agreements in the clients mind.  Dale’s instruction allows families to restructure their roles through healthy communication, heal past wounds the addiction disease has caused, and implement healthy boundaries that get distorted by drug and alcohol abuse.  She believes that family workshops are necessary in order for families to productively interact with their loved ones in ways that support these new patterns, in turn creating long term growth and sobriety.  Dale is driven by her compassion and desire to help families work through the wreckage the addiction disease creates, and help rebuild the trust that’s been lost.

 
Greg Bergeron
Housing Manager

Greg a native of Wisconsin arrived in prescott, Arizona by way of a wilderness Therapy Program in Utah.  As an active member of the young peoples recovery community he gives back to the young men at Clean Adventures by showing them what has worked for him.  He believes strongly in working the 12 steps, service and fellow shipping in the community.  He brings a good balance of structure and fun to the Clean Adventure's program.


 
Katy Warren
Office Administration

Katy Waren came to Prescott, Az nine years ago to begin her own journey in recovery.  She became involved in the recovery industry where she has left a significant imprint wherever she has worked.  Her ability to organize clinical documentation is an asset to Clean Adventures.  Her passion is helping others on their personal journey into recovery.
 
Amanda McGregor
Clinical Intern


Amanda received a B.S in Psychology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and is currently completing her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Prescott College.  Her approach to therapy blends theories from Humanistic and Existentialist psychology as well as aspects of philosophy, religion, literature, and the arts.  Amanda also relies on the inner resources and wisdom of her clients to bring about change and to heal the wounds created by addiction.  She believes that addiction takes place not only within the individual, but is also deeply embedded in the context of the client's family system and social environment.  Therefore, Amanda strives to help her clients understand and heal their family dynamics as well as the ways in which they view themselves, engage with life, and interact with the world.
